Developing healthy relationships with screens & promoting free play in Fort Wayne
Fort Wayne Unplugged is a group of parents and caregivers dedicated to supporting healthy relationships with technology. We believe technology is beneficial when used intentionally and with purpose. Kids grow best with real life play and time spent with people. If children already have devices we encourage a “slow tech” model for use.
GOALS:
- Family agreement to wait till 9th grade to give our child(ren) Smartphones
- Building a community of slow-tech (it’s not no tech, it’s slow-tech) across Fort Wayne
- 2-3 opportunities to get together as an “unplugged” community
- Sharing ideas and resources together
- Supporting phone-free schools
